Buckhurst Group's Halloween Bake Off 2025

This year’s Buckhurst Group Halloween Bake Off brought an incredible mix of skill and creativity across our depots. With 10 impressive entries, the competition table was filled with bakes from character cakes to spider-themed showstoppers.

After much taste-testing and voting through Buckhurst Plant Hire's social media pages, Debbie from our Rossendale depot took the top spot. Her winning creation, Beware of the Spiders (entry 6), featured a sculpted chocolate tree, a rich chocolate autumnal cake base and a selection of homemade jam buns, each topped with edible spiders. The attention to detail and the spooky Halloween theme made it a clear favourite.

The competition featured some fantastic bakes from across the group, including:

• A brilliantly decorated Frankenstein cake

• A JCB double chocolate cake, with a spooky graveyard scene

• A full pumpkin-shaped cake, flavoured with warming pumpkin spice

• A striking Scream-inspired cake

• Plus many other spooky and inventive creations

Thank you to everyone who took part and brought their best baking skills to the table. The effort, creativity and friendly competition made this year’s Halloween Bake Off one of our best yet.
